Discovery Den

The Discovery Den is a preschool play area for your enjoyment. The room is divided into different learning stations. All children in the Discovery Den must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The room is available from 8:30a.m. until one hour before the library closes. The room may be closed during program events. To be sure, call ahead.

Professional Resources

The Children's Center has teaching aides available for teachers, student teachers, DayCare and Headstart providers. These aides consist of program manuals, story packets, puppets, and big books. Use of these materials requires a Cambria County Library card, and can be circulated for one week.

Book Nook

Seasonal selections and new books are on display as you enter the Children's Center. There is also a display featuring various "Dewey Classification" titles. Twelve magazine titles are available for circulation. They are circulated for four weeks. The Competition Books are shelved on a special truck for easy access. Pathfinders (list of titles on one topic) have been compiled to make your search and theme inquiries easier and less time consuming.

If you're looking for something to do with your baby, toddler, or preschooler, look no further than the Childrens Center! Here we offer Story Time! It's a time for caregivers and children to sing, dance, and be wowed by the stories told by the Children's Center staff!
