Highland Community Library offers more than 30,000 volumes of recreational reading and reference material for adults, young adults, and children, including large print books, audio books, music CDs, children's videos, and more than 70 magazines.

Books may also be borrowed (if available) from another library by completing an interlibrary loan request form at the Circulation Desk. In addition to in-house reference interviews with the library staff, patrons may also telephone the library for assistance with brief reference questions.

Group library tours are available by appointment.

Upon request, the library staff will provide instruction on the use of the online public access catalog (OPAC).

Eight public access computers are available for Internet research and desktop publishing projects. A coin-operated photocopier is also available for public use.

Children of all ages can listen to a master storyteller by calling the HCL/Kiwanis Dial-A-Story line at 266-9700. The library offers an annual Summer Reading Program for children from kindergarten through sixth grade to encourage young patrons to read throughout the summer months.
