Types of Materials at the Library
Cambria County Library is proud of its collection and the wealth of materials it contains. Books are available in both regular print and in large print. The library receives several current newspapers and subscribes to a large number of magazines. The audio book collection has titles on cassette and on CD. There is a growing music CD collection, mostly classical and special interest. Videos, available in both the children and the adult departments, include feature films, non-fiction videos on a variety of topics, and children's programs.
The library maintains microfilm copies of the local newspaper dating back to 1853 and of the New York Times dating back to 1954. There is also a large microfilm collection of U.S. census information for Cambria County and many surrounding areas, covering censuses taken from 1790 through 1920.
