Cambria County Library is pleased to announce a new outreach initiative that will bring books to people living in local retirement and assisted-living organizations. The library will be partnering with Westmont Woods, McCullough Place, and Garden Terrace in Dale Borough to bring library books directly to residents. Additional senior living and assisted living facilities are expected to be added in the coming months as well.

“We’re committed to serving our community, particularly those who may have barriers to access our traditional services. We hope to continue to develop our outreach services to include even more of our neighbors.”

Ashley N. Flynn, Director

Each location will have a box of 35-40 books delivered by the library, with an assortment of popular fiction and nonfiction titles. Large print and audiobooks are also included in each box. Residents will be able to request specific items on a bi-weekly or monthly delivery schedule determined by each facility. “Local history, mysteries, and romances are always very popular. We also had requests for Amish fiction and health and religious books as well.” Says Nicole Lenz, Circulation Supervisor.
