Marketing and Communications Coordinator
We are currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator! If you are a creative storyteller who values collaboration, are passionate about public libraries, and have strong design skills, this could be the role for you! Strong candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience.
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing, communications, public relations, and fundraising initiatives that increase awareness of library services, programs, collections, and community impact, while fostering meaningful connections with patrons, donors, community partners, and stakeholders.
This position serves as the library’s primary storyteller and brand ambassador, creating engaging content and building relationships that connect the community with library resources.
This position serves on the Leadership Team and Fundraising Committee.

Essential Functions
- Develop and implement marketing plans and promotional campaigns for library programs, services, events, and initiatives.
- Create content for print, digital, social media, website, and email communications.
- Design promotional materials including flyers, brochures, newsletters, posters, banners, and digital graphics for internal use and outreach events.
- Manage the library website and social media platforms.
- Write press releases, articles, annual report content, and other public communications.
- Develop relationships with local media, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Capture and manage photography and video content for promotional purposes.
- Track engagement metrics and prepare reports evaluating marketing effectiveness.
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all library communications.
- Assist with donor communications, advocacy efforts, and special campaigns.
- Support fundraising initiatives by developing donor communications, promotional materials, sponsorship opportunities, and campaigns that strengthen community investment in the library.
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, community engagement, or related field.
- Experience in a library, nonprofit, educational, or community-focused organization preferred.
- Experience with graphic design, photography, video creation, website management, and social media platforms preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and marketing/design software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry promotional materials, displays, and event supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel locally for meetings, events, and outreach activities.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based environment.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
- Frequent interaction with staff, community partners, and the public.
