Students are welcome to join Library Director, Justin Brown, in this adventure game program!
Games on Deck! is a reading program developed for tweens and teens, that involves interactive storytelling with role-playing elements. Utilizing “gamebooks,” this program encourages students to actively engage in literacy, risk assessment, cooperation and socialization.
Gamebooks are a type of choose-your-own-adventure story, which involves role-playing-game features, such as: readers assuming the roles of protagonists; resource management; die roles determining the success or failure of an action; character-attribute stats; and a set of basic rules/instructions to follow during play.
