A Conversation with Bruce Siwy, Author of “Jailing the Johnstown Judge”
November 29 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
In 1988, Judge Joe O’Kicki was regarded by many of his peers as one of the most brilliant legal minds in the country (and in Cambria County). But a state police unit was investigating his personal affairs. When he was found guilty on corruption charges, he fled to Central Europe and became an international fugitive.
Using courtroom testimony, contemporary interviews and excerpts from O’Kicki’s unfinished memoir, author Bruce Siwy freshly examines the extraordinary case. He will read from his book as well as have a moderated discussion hosted by our library’s Reference staff.
