Safe Sitter® Essentials (grades 6-8)

April 1 @ 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Cambria County Library is a Registered Safe Sitter® Teaching Site! Safe Sitter® is a nationally-recognized program developed by pediatrician Dr. Patricia Keener.

Safe Sitter Essentials is our 1-day class designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Students who complete a Safe Sitter® Essentials course gain confidence and learn how, why, and where injuries can happen so they can be prevented. They are taught infant and child choking rescue. They also learn how a child’s age affects the care they receive, how to prevent problem behavior, and how to run their own babysitting business.

Space is limited and preregistration is required using this form.

Class tuition and class materials for our Safe Sitter Essentials classes have been generously funded by a Fund for the Future Grant from the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies.
