Smokey the Bear’s 80th Birthday at Cresson PL

A representative from the Bureau of Forestry will be discussing forest fire prevention and, of course, we will have a birthday cake for Smokey.

This program is part of a special initiative by the USDA Forest Service and all PA public libraries to participate in a free reading program that teaches children about forests, natural resource careers, their local environment, and preventing wildfires. Although Smokey’s official birthday is August 9, the Forest Service is celebrating all year.
