Beginning Monday, August 4, crews will begin renovations in two areas on the library’s third floor: The Pennsylvania Room, which houses state and local history resources, and a staff-only space that holds periodicals, microfilm, and other research materials.

This next phase of renovation will bring two new spaces to the third floor: a computer learning lab, and a research room dedicated to local history and genealogy.
The classroom will provide a convenient, modern space for computer and technology classes. The new research space will hold the historic collections once held in the Pennsylvania Room, as well as microfilm stations and tables and seating for conducting research. The room will be open for public use during all regular library hours. Future plans include using this space to host genealogy classes and local history discussions.
The library will remain open throughout the renovations, and most third-floor services and materials will remain accessible. Crews will be completing some work outside of regular business hours to minimize noise and dust. Noise cancelling headphones will be available to borrow.
The renovations are estimated to be completed in mid-October. Check here for updates!
