So many great changes are coming to the Cambria County Library! The third floor is undergoing renovations that will add a technology classroom and a modern research room for genealogy and local history resources. Later this year, work will begin on the transformation of our first floor. These bold updates will make the library a more accessible, safe, and functional space for our community, and the improvements will be easy to notice and enjoy.

What is more difficult to see is that library staff and administration work persistently to secure financial support and grants for these physical changes. Our biggest challenge, however, is the growing gap due to a decrease in operational funding. This vital funding supports the purchase of print materials and digital resources, library services, programming for all ages, and a host of other daily expenses. While these operational costs continue to increase, funding remains flat. The delay of the state budget creates immediate hardships that are costly to offset. In addition, local funding has declined, limiting our capacity to serve our community.

As our renovations progress, we hope you will enjoy the new and improved spaces throughout our building. With your support, your operational gift will help us to sustain our mission to educate, entertain, and empower our community.

With gratitude,

Ashley N. Flynn, Cambria County Library Executive Director
