Paper Quilling

April 29 @ 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

For students ages 9 to 12.

In this program, we will be using the art form of quilling, or paper filigree, to create intricate paper flowers. Quilling has been in existence since ancient Egyptian times and has lately been enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Quilling involves the use of paper strips that are rolled, shaped and glued to produce decorative designs.

Michelle will give a brief description and history of quilling, then move on to show how to make the basic shapes needed to produce most designs, with an explanation of tools used. Lastly, participants will use their newly acquired skill to craft a quilled flower bouquet card to give to someone special.

Sign-ups are required.
