Event Series Event Series: STEM Community Cafe Series

STEM Community Cafe Series with NASA aerospace technologist Mr. Don Freeburn

February 29 @ 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Our “Community Cafes” have focused on STEM workforce development in our area to help students learn from local residents about STEM careers in our region. This series has been made possible by a PA Smart Grant and the IU8.

So far, we’ve learned about:
• frogs and frog conservation from Aaron Capoullez with PA Woods and Forests
• 3D printing and Maker Spaces with Todd from Made in Johnstown
• being a STEM teacher, from Ms. Amanda of the Learning Lamp.

JOIN US FOR OUR NEXT STEM COMMUNITY CAFE:
Saturday, April 6 • 11:00 a.m.
Join retired NASA aerospace technologist Mr. Don Freeburn to learn about his career and how astronauts travelled to the moon during the Apollo missions. Mr. Freeburn will discuss the many STEM career opportunities in this field.
This program is geared for kids 8 and up, teens and adults are also welcome!

This STEM Community Cafe event will kick off our Solar Eclipse Program, taking place until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. Join us for crafts, an indoor planetarium, and free solar glasses for attendees! Learn more at https://fb.me/e/7tSA2l5WE
