The Cambria County Library System is now partnered with the Somerset County Federated Library System and the Mary S. Biesecker Library to expand our sharing services even further.
What is resource sharing?
The libraries in the Cambria County Library System work together to share materials with libraries in Somerset, Lackawanna, and Blair County. The process makes it easy to get the books and other items you want! You can even pick up books at one library and return them to another.
You can ask library staff for help finding items at other libraries, or try it yourself.
How it works:
- Find an item in the SPARK online catalog – Search for items in the Cambria County Library System first
- If you can’t find it in our system, look in the collections at our partner libraries:
- Somerset County Federated Library System
- Mary S. Beisecker Library
- Blair County Library System
- Lackwanna County Library System
- Once you’ve find the right item, select “Place Hold”
- Log into your SPARK Account with your Library Card and PIN Number/Password. (Note: If you do not know your password, call the library to have it reset!)
- Select your Pickup Location as any library in the Cambria County Library System and select how you’d like to be notified
- Wait for us to let you know when your item is available!
Once a hold is available, you’ll be notified and have three days to pick it up. When you’re finished enjoying the item, simply return it to any library in Cambria County and we’ll make sure it gets back to its home library.
