On March 10, 2020, we, students in the course on Boccaccio’s Decameron, would like to comment on the current situation regarding Kent State’s response to COVID-19. Boccaccio’s one-hundred short stories, collectively known as The Decameron, is set against the backdrop of the plague of 1348, known as the Black Death. We cannot help but interpret this book as a present day reflection of what we are reading in this course.
