Northern Cambria Public Library will be expanding its operating hours to accommodate an increase in public use, starting September 4, 2023. “This expansion of hours will bring us into full compliance with state requirements from The Office of Commonwealth Libraries,” said Board President, Bill Lantzy.

“The staff, board, and volunteers have been doing a great job in advancing the role of the library in the community. Special thanks to Northern Cambria Borough Council, Northern Cambria School Board and all our contributors”

In the first full week of September, the library will change its hours to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The library will remain closed on Sundays.

“Community members visiting the library have increased dramatically over the past two years,” said Library Director, Justin Brown.

“We have more than 200 new cardholders from 2022 to 2023 alone, and we have seen increased participation in programming and services. So, we think it’s essential to accommodate the community’s access to the library by extending our operating hours.”

The library, its services, and its materials are free and open to the public. Library cards can be obtained either by filling out a form online at www.cclsys.org/card or by visiting the library. Cards are free for anyone who lives in Cambria County. For more information, visit www.cclsys.org/ncambria, call 814-948-8222, or visit the library at 4200 Crawford Ave., located in the NORCAM building.
