Getting Involved

Volunteer at the Nanty Glo Public Library

The Nanty Glo Public Library welcomes volunteers to help with different tasks, including assisting with or providing storytime and Summerquest programs. Volunteers are also needed to help with library operations, including shelving books, cleaning, and other tasks.

Volunteers should complete and submit a volunteer application at the library. Call the library to inquire about current and upcoming volunteer opportunities.

All volunteers aged 18 and older will be required to complete PATCH and Child Abuse History Clearance background checks. These clearances are free to volunteers and can be completed on the PATCH Website and the PA Child Welfare Website. Volunteers do not need to obtain federal background checks that require fingerprinting.

Donating Items to the Nanty Glo Public Library

The Nanty Glo Public Library welcomes donations from the public, with a few limitations. The Nanty Glo Public Library will accept books, dvds, and other media that are in a clean undamaged state. Items cannot be torn or have mildew, stains, or other forms of damage. The Nanty Glo Public Library cannot accept textbooks, medical texts, dictionaries or encyclopedias. Items must be donated directly to the library, and cannot be dropped off outside of library hours. If an item cannot be added to the library collection, donated items may be used as part of the Nanty Glo Public Library Book Sale.

Donating Items to the Nanty Glo Library Basket Party

Items are accepted two months in advance, up to the date of the basket party. Alcohol cannot be included in baskets. Please contact the Nanty Glo Public Library for additional information on donating basket items to the library.
