Getting Involved

Volunteer at the South Fork Public Library

The South Fork Public Library welcomes volunteers to help with different tasks, including assisting with or providing storytime and Summerquest programs. Volunteers are also needed to help with library operations, including shelving books, cleaning, and other tasks.

Volunteers should reach out to the South Fork Public Library director to discuss how to help the library.

All volunteers aged 18 and older will be required to complete PATCH and Child Abuse History Clearance background checks. These clearances are free to volunteers and can be completed on the PATCH Website and the PA Child Welfare Website. Volunteers do not need to obtain federal background checks that require fingerprinting.

Donating Items to the South Fork Public Library

The South Fork Public Library welcomes paperback book donations from the public, with a few limitations. Items should be in a clean state and cannot be torn or have mildew, stains, or other forms of damage. The South Fork Public Library cannot accept textbooks, medical texts, dictionaries or encyclopedias. Items must be donated directly to the library, and cannot be dropped off outside of library hours.

Donating Items to Fundraising Events.

Items are accepted for the Cake Social and raffle. Items should be in new condition. The library accepts items year-round and the event takes place in November. Basket items can be donated for the annual basket raffle starting in January for the Horse Race event in February.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the South Fork Library group consists of local community members who support the library through fundraising and event volunteering opportunities. To participate, please reach out to the Library Director for additional information.
