Cambria County Library is Fine Free!

Borrow our standard items like Books, Audiobooks, and DVDs without overdue charges. Some limited exceptions apply, including our electronic devices. Visit our Technology Page to learn about specific borrowing information to learn more.

If more than 3 items are overdue or there are more than $5 in fines on a patron’s account, services may be blocked from use. Computer use will be limited. Once items are returned or charges are under $5, patrons will be able to use borrowing services again. 

Materials may be borrowed from and returned to any Cambria County Library System member library. Visit the system Borrowing page to learn more about our resource sharing partnerships.

Books from any Cambria County Library System member library will circulate for 2 weeks. Books and many other items will renew automatically! You will receive an email to let you know if an item has renewed, or the reason it did not renew. Items may not be eligible for renewal if the item has reached its checkout limit, or another patron has requested the item.

Some items are available for different borrowing periods and may include a rental cost. At Cambria County Library, these items include:

Rental Books

At times, the library will purchase extra copies of high-demand books that can be reserved as rental copies. These items circulate for 2 weeks at a cost of $1 plus tax. Rental books cannot be renewed.

DVDs

DVDs circulate for one week

Ukuleles 

Ukuleles can be borrowed for two weeks and include the instrument, case, and how-to book. Ukuleles do accrue an overdue charge of $0.25 per day.

Reading Competition Books:

Books for reading competitions can be checked out for 2 weeks but cannot be renewed. 

Electronic Devices

Electronic devices like HotSpots, Chromebooks, and Tablets require special borrowing agreements. Visit our Technology Page to learn more.

Items that are not returned to the library within 30 days will be charged for the cost of the item and a $5 processing fee. Patrons will also be charged replacement and processing fees for items that are returned in a damaged state. The Cambria County System member libraries may work with the local magistrate to recover the cost of lost or damaged items.
